Answer a few quick questions about your rooms and our Air Con Calculator estimates the system you need and the installed price, using the same published prices as this page.
Modern air conditioning is a heat pump on your wall: crisp, quiet cooling through the warm months, and efficient heating for the rest of the Scottish year, typically far cheaper to run than plug-in electric heaters. Our Refcom certified engineers design and install Daikin systems for homes across West Lothian and Central Scotland, backed by the same team that maintains climate systems for major commercial sites nationwide. Whether you call it air conditioning, air con or an air-to-air heat pump, it’s the same clever machine.
Single-room price covers a standard domestic installation: one indoor and one outdoor unit, normal wall mounting, up to 5 m of interconnecting services, gravity condensate, local electrical connection and full commissioning. Every price is confirmed by free survey before you commit.
All three levels heat and cool, and all are installed to the same standard by our own engineers. The difference is efficiency, quietness and comfort features, our engineers are Daikin installers first, with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries as the proven alternative:
High-efficiency cooling and heating at the sharpest price. Typically 8–12% below our Recommended level.
Enhanced efficiency and comfort, the sweet spot for most West Lothian homes, and the basis of our from-£2,195 price.
Our highest efficiency level with advanced air-quality features and whisper-quiet operation, from 19 dB(A) on selected models. Typically 15–25% above Recommended.
Prefer an alternative? Mitsubishi Heavy Industries equivalents (ZSP/ZTL, ZS and ZSX series) are available at each level where technically suitable. Exact model, efficiency and sound data for your chosen unit are confirmed in your quotation.
Every system we install is fully reversible. In winter it works as an air-to-air heat pump, delivering seasonal efficiencies typically around SCOP 4.0–5.2 depending on model, capacity and conditions, meaning each kilowatt of electricity becomes roughly four to five kilowatts of heat. For rooms currently warmed by plug-in electric heaters, the running-cost difference is dramatic. It's why we fit as many systems for winter comfort as summer cooling. Running costs stay modest because an air to air heat pump moves heat rather than generating it, your quote shows the figures for your exact model.
Sleep through heatwaves; units from 19 dB(A) on selected models are quieter than a whisper
Comfortable video calls in July, cheap warmth in January
Even temperatures, dehumidified air
Possible, but glazing and roof construction change everything, so these are always designed at survey rather than estimated online
A single split system covers one room; a multi-split runs up to four rooms from one quiet outdoor unit. Five or more rooms, flats and communal buildings, listed properties, long or concealed pipe runs, and commercial premises are quoted after survey, because guessing isn't designing.
Planning permission isn't always required. Houses often qualify for permitted development where siting limits and conditions are met, but flats, maisonettes, listed buildings, conservation areas and communal elevations need specific checks, and no online tool can guarantee your case. We'll advise on siting and provide the technical information you need; landlord, factor and planning approvals remain the property owner's to obtain, and we'll tell you plainly when we think you'll need them.
An annual maintenance visit keeps performance, air hygiene and manufacturer warranty conditions intact, from £120 for a single system. As Refcom certified engineers, all refrigerant work is handled compliantly, and we service systems we didn't install too.
Domestic installations across Bathgate, Livingston, Linlithgow, Broxburn, Whitburn, Armadale and all of West Lothian, plus Edinburgh, Falkirk and the wider Central Belt. Commercial projects Scotland-wide from our Bathgate base.

A single-room Daikin system starts from £2,195 including VAT, fully installed to a standard domestic specification. Additional rooms on a multi-split typically add from £850 each. Every price is confirmed by free survey.
Yes, every system we install is a reversible air-to-air heat pump, with seasonal efficiencies typically around SCOP 4.0–5.2 depending on model and conditions. That's roughly 4–5 kW of heat per kW of electricity, which is why winter heating is now one of the main reasons our customers install it.
Inverter systems modulate rather than run flat out, so once a room is at temperature they sip power. Exact figures depend on the model, room and tariff, your quotation includes running-cost guidance for your chosen unit rather than a one-size-fits-all claim.
Quieter than most people expect, from 19 dB(A) on selected models, below a whisper. Your quote states the exact sound level for your chosen unit and fan setting.
Not always. Houses frequently qualify for permitted development when siting conditions are met; flats, listed buildings and conservation areas need specific checks. We advise honestly on your situation, approvals themselves remain the owner's responsibility.
A standard single-room installation is usually completed in a day. Multi-room systems typically take longer depending on pipe routes and access, your survey confirms the schedule.
Usually up to four, subject to the manufacturer's combination tables. Larger designs are engineered at survey.
Daikin is our primary range, Sensira, Comfora and Perfera, with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries equivalents available where suitable. We're Refcom certified for all refrigerant work.
We install in conservatories regularly, but glazing, roof construction and orientation change the design so much that we always survey first rather than estimate online, it's the honest way to get it right.
An annual maintenance visit protects performance, air hygiene and manufacturer warranty conditions, from £120. We service existing systems too, including ones we didn't install.
Less than most people guess, inverter systems modulate rather than run flat out, so once a room is at temperature they sip power. The exact per-hour figure depends on the model, room and tariff, which is why your quotation includes running-cost guidance for your chosen unit rather than a one-size-fits-all claim.
